Lewisham Libraries hosted a fun day to celebrate International Migrants Day. The day was full of family activities as well as advice, fun, health and legal information and support for everyone.
Children's activities
We will be hosting our regular weekly activities for children themed to match this special day.
11:15 to 12:00 Multicultural Baby Bounce.
Come with your baby to sing rhymes from all over the world
13:15 to 14:15 Multilingual Toddlers Tales.
Come along to listen to stories and sing nursery rhymes from all over the world in different languages with your toddler.
14:30 to 15:30 Fly away (Craft session)
Come and help us create a migrating bird to attach to our flying house to be displayed in the children's library to celebrate Lewisham's welcoming nature.
16:00 to 16:30 Smash the Piñata Let your child have fun, hit the Piñata and release the goodies hidden inside.

13:00 to 16:00 Advice sessionFree 1 to 1 advice session provided by Lewisham Multi Lingual Advice Service.: assistance, advice and advocacy on Welfare Benefits, Health, Housing, Employment, Consumer, Debt, Education, etc.

Get to know has gathered the most important local organisations whose purpose is to welcome and support people from other cultures who voluntarily or not migrate or seek asylum in Lewisham or SE London. You will find them all on the ground floor so you can get to know them.

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK but it will affect 1 in 4 Black African and Caribbean men from the age of 45 onwards. Orchid will provide information about their fight to save men's lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through pioneering research and promoting awareness.
