Volunteer Reading Champions needed by Lewisham Libraries!

The Summer Reading Challenge is a national programme run by the Reading Agency to help children aged 4 - 11 years keep up their reading skills by encouraging them to read six books during the long summer holiday.

If you can volunteer a few hours a week from 13 July – 31 August 2019 we would love to hear from you. Training will be provided.

You would:
  • help staff run the Challenge
  • talk to children about the books they’ve been reading
  • help with summer craft activities

In return you get:

  • Valuable work experience to increase employability and for UCAS forms
  • Increased confidence, social skills and literacy
  • The chance to make a positive contribution to the community
