Welcome to the first Start-ups in London Libraries blog from the Lewisham SiLL team, bringing you business news and opportunities from across the borough.

Start-ups in London Libraries (SiLL) is a free programme designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs gain the skills, information and know-how to build a successful business through workshops, one to one sessions, business resources and events. SiLL is delivered by Lewisham Library and Information Service in partnership with the British Library and nine other London boroughs.

The programme includes two full day workshops run by business professionals, covering everything you need to know to get your business off to a good start including protecting your idea, lean start-ups, the business model canvas, legal matters and much more.

‘I really enjoyed the workshop. It’s very useful for people who want to gain a clearer idea of how to start a business and how to take those first steps.’ Baiba, local entrepreneur.

Our next workshops will be on 11th and 13th February 2020. You can register for the SiLL programme and book the workshops below.

Our SiLL champion, Mark is on hand to offer free tailored one to one sessions for SiLL participants. Mark will take you through the business diagnostics process and create an action plan with you.
