This week (17-24 May) is Dementia Action week. Many people enjoy listening to music and for people with dementia, music can elicit happy memories and nostalgia.
Paul Vincent from Lewisham Branch has put together a musical timescape featuring songs, musicals and TV theme tunes from the 1930s
to 1970s on Spotify.

I have created a playlist Lewisham Library – Music from Down the Years. The playlist, on Spotify, has 80 carefully selected tracks.
The tracks are listed in order of decade, 30s first, 70s last and not necessarily equal numbers of tracks per decade.

I did my best to include a TV Theme and/or a Musical and/or a Musical Film song, at the start of each new decade as a guide, followed by the popular tracks of the decade.
I included a mix of less obvious tracks, i.e. tracks that are popularly played still, to heighten that feeling of remembrance when heard.
This is a very general playlist but I hope lots of the songs will bring back happy memories.
